Canton Fair promotes green concept-Event plays a key role in boosting country’s low-carbon development
A series of activities focusing on low-carbon and green development kicked off on April 26 during the ongoing 133rd Canton Fair.
Chu Shijia, deputy chief and secretary general of the China Import and Export Fair and head of the China Foreign Trade Center, Zhang Sihong, deputy secretary general of the China Import and Export Fair and deputy head of the China Foreign Trade Center, Chen Feng, secretary general of the China National Standardization Technical Committee and other representatives attended the event.
Chu said in his speech that under the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce, the Canton Fair, as the pioneer and leader of the green and low-carbon development of the convention and exhibition industry, has set up a role model.
The three national standards formulated by the China Foreign Trade Center have been widely recognized by the industry.
In the next step, the Canton Fair will give full play to its leading role in establishing green booths, hold a design competition for green exhibitions, join hands with partners to create an ecosystem for green exhibitions and enhance the core competitiveness of China’s exhibition industry on the global stage, he said.
Chen congratulated the release and implementation of the three national standards and said that the China Foreign Trade Center has thoroughly strengthened the standardization construction and carried out the work requirements of the Ministry of Commerce.
The event also invited representatives from all parties involved in the green development of the convention and exhibition industry and held a themed dialogue to study the latest trends of exhibitions.
During the event, Zhang shared the achievements and experiences of the Canton Fair’s green development and drew a blueprint for the future.
Some enterprises were granted the Award of Green Stand for the 130th Canton Fair during the event.
